November 15, 2015 East Osceloa & Mt. Osceola.

We are continuing to hike all 48 in one year so this weekend it was the Osceola's. We started on Greeley Ponds Trail with a dusting of snow on the ground, but shortly after the junction with Mt. Osceola Trail the snow started to increase. The steep sections were a little difficult to navigate but passable. There were some good ice flows on sections of the trail but with care they were manageable. Sneakers were the footwear of the day, and spikes were not needed by us, but some people were wearing them. The chimney did have some ice and snow in it. We decided to go up the chimney (Jillian used a rope that I had packed as a safety line), but we opted for the bypass during the decent. We felt that down climbing it would be a bit too dangerous for us.
